A vibrant village & community
Barns Green is a charming village centred around a historic Green. Adjacent to this lies The Queen’s Head, a traditional Sussex pub and a post office/ local shop which offers essential groceries and supplies.
The village green has a play park, cricket ground and football pitch. It also hosts the Barns Green Half Marathon which has been running for thirty years, as well as the annual Village Fête and the fabulous Barns Green Music Festival.
Alongside the village’s thriving and varied sports clubs, the Barns Green Players have been staging theatre performances for over 40 years. The Village Hall is also used by the local Youth Club, Brownies and other village organisations.
South of the village green the Lakeside Café at Sumners Pond offers cooked breakfasts, light lunches and a fully licensed bar. The café overlooks a number of fishing lakes and is a great spot to spend a sunny morning or lazy afternoon.
